Intro

Vivian are one of Malta’s leading distributors of health, baby, cosmetic and food products. They approached us to solidify their positioning across all online channels.

Phase 1: User Analysis

CONTENT EXPLORATION

We started the project by mapping out the core content we want to show on the website while taking into account both user and business goals.

USER JOURNEYS & SITEMAP

After planning out the content we want to show to our users, we moved on to mapping out all the relevant pages. The image below shows all the pages and the links from and to other pages.

Phase 2: Wireframing

BLACK & WHITE BLUEPRINTS

With the site structure mapped out, we proceeded to create an in depth blueprint of the final product in the form of wireframes. At this stage we don’t consider colour and other aesthetic elements, instead making sure that our users are targeted with the right messaging, in the right place, at the right time.

Phase 3: Design

STYLE GUIDE

We wanted to give the site it’s own unique identity while also retaining visual consistency across different channels.

To do this, we started off by creating a style guide consisting of colours, fonts, a visual moodboard and UI elements to be used across the site.

PAGE COMPONENTS

The visual elements detailed in the style guide were used to create modular page components.

We created a recognisable blue gradient that is used as a consistent element throughout the branding. This colour is being supported by a dark grey, which creates a high value in contrast.

We created large clickable areas throughout the website in order to facilitate user flow between different pages on both desktop and mobile devices. A hover animation is used in order to indicate clickable areas.

Sliders are used to both encourage user interaction and show more content in every fold. This is especially important on mobile where stacked page elements can increase the length of a page to unwieldy proportions.

THE RESULT

Over 15 different pages were created, together with an updated visual style to be used across every medium.
