Head of Business Development
Alessandro started his journey at ANCHOVY. as an intern in digital marketing. His outgoing personality and drive to make people happy made him the perfect candidate to be picked up for a Business Development executive, and over his career he has grown to fill the role of Head of Business Development for ANCHOVY. in Malta. Alessandro is a family man, who goes home to his loving wife and daughter – who he notoriously spends every Friday at the beach with!
Head of Data
While studying for a degree in Marketing and Management at the University of Malta, Jeffrey started studying design and web development on the side.
After completing his degree, he joined a local startup that was building an app to provide an alternative transport solution through carpooling.
As he discovered he has a knack for generating business insights and visualising data in unorthodoxly simple ways.
He joined ANCHOVY. and is on a mission to make Data and Artificial Intelligence simple and accessible, so that businesses can see and realise the value for themselves.
When he is not working on data for clients you can find him writing data articles with funny comics, making kick ass presentations internally, reading autobiographies and science fiction books. Jeff is our very own data king; he even loves working with data sets that help solve global problems along with his cat called Timothy.
Head of Digital
After studying accountancy at the prestigious ACCA academy at PWC, Andrew’s interest in entrepreneurship lead him to interning at a start-up.
After a couple of years of immersing himself in anything digital with a constant hunger for self-improvement, he has molded himself into a result-driven performance marketer.
Andrew is competitive in all aspects of his life (sometimes a tad too much) and when he is not working, you can find him working out, reading on new skills and arguing about how this season will be Arsenal’s season.
CFO
Mark was awarded a Bachelors of Accountancy (Hons) degree from the University of Malta in 2010. He began his career at one of the Big 4 in Malta, where he worked within the tax department. He eventually moved into industry where he worked as the Senior Accountant in the local office of one of the world’s largest airlines. In 2017 he joined the ANCHOVY. team as CFO and is responsible for the full finance function. He works closely with Zak and Benji and is fully focused on achieving ANCHOVY.’s targets. When he’s not at the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends doing what he does best – eating and laughing!
Co-Founder
Zak takes care of the business side of things. He leads the business development and international growth of the agency. After completing his Masters of Engineering in Software Engineering for Embedded systems from Fraunhofer IESE, he teamed up with his brother Benji to set the foundation for ANCHOVY. Zak has a passion for the sea, and if he’s not at the office he’s driving his passion for long distance swimming, sailing and windsurfing.
Co-Founder
After completing his degree in advanced character animation in California, he identified, together with his brother Zak, a niche in Malta’s market for a data-driven digital marketing agency – and the rest is history. A serial entrepreneur by nature, when he’s not pushing the boundaries on innovation and setting up new start-ups, Benji loves reading, observing people and enjoying the simple things in life. He’s an avid windsurfer, who has sailed semi-professionally since the age of 13 – but there’s nothing he loves more than spending time with his family, friends and his girlfriend.
Head of UX
Our very own UX mascot, Luke completed an MSc in Design and Digital Media from the Edinburgh College of Art, eventually taking jobs in UX Design and coordination in the iGaming and financial sectors, before joining the ANCHOVY. team to optimise user experience in all aspects of the company. Luke enjoys watching obscure films and bragging about it to people, and is driven by figuring out why people are the way they are. His biggest regret in life is not being allowed the job title “King of UX”, which he still begs for periodically.
